Our Story

reality of the Marche

Marche reality

Santa Cassella is located in Potenza Picena in the Marche region, 5 kilometers from sea, among the hills of Macerata that slope towards the Adriatic. It has an extension of approximately 70 hectares of which 32 are vineyards and 16 are orchards. Since 1700 in this "natural amphitheatre" the Buonaccorsi counts, from whom the current owners are descendants, they cultivated vines. In the 1970s the company embarked on a new era aimed at increasing product quality. Next to the traditional vineyards (Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Maceratino, Malvasia and Verdicchio) some international vines are introduced (such as Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon and Chardonnay).

Change

In the 1970s the company embarked on a new era aimed at increasing the quality of production. Alongside the traditional vineyards (Sangiovese, Montepulciano, Maceratino, Malvasia and Verdicchio) some international vines are introduced (such as Cabernet-Sauvignon, Merlot, Sauvignon and Chardonnay).

Il Buon Vino

Good Wine

The belief that good wine is "born" first and foremost in the vineyard has led the company to put particular effort into caring for the vine, especially in reducing production per vine, in order to obtain a wine with more structure and elegance. The grapes, harvested by hand, are then softly pressed.

Other Excellences

Other Excellencies

Another specialization, for which the company is well renowned, is fruit cultivation. The orchards are of cherries, apricots, plums, peaches and apples. S. Cassella, traditionally, sells fresh fruit directly to the consumer (KM0) in its stores; in this way can afford to let the fruit ripen for as long as possible on the plant, thus giving flavors and aromas of the past. The different varieties and graduated maturations guarantee production from mid-May to mid-May September.

Precious Oil

Fine oil

The company activity is completed by the production of a fine extra virgin olive oil obtained from the daily pressing of our olives harvested at the right level of ripeness. It is strongly recommended for its digestibility.
